Rom 9:10
Not only that, but Rebekah’s children were conceived at the same time by our father Isaac.
And not only so, but aalso when Rebekah had conceived children by one man, our forefather Isaac,
οὐ μόνον δέ, ἀλλὰ καὶ Ῥεβέκκα ἐξ ἑνὸς κοίτην ἔχουσα, Ἰσαὰκ τοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν·
Rom 9:11
Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad – in order that God’s purpose in election might stand:
though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad—in order that God’s purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of bhim who calls
μήπω γὰρ γεννηθέντων μηδὲ πραξάντων τι ἀγαθὸν

Rom 9:12

Rom 9:13
Just as it is written: ‘Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.’
Mal. 1:2,3

As it is written, gJacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”

Rom 9:14
What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all!
What shall we say then? iIs there injustice on God’s part? By no means!
Τί οὖν ἐροῦμεν; μὴ ἀδικία παρὰ τῷ θεῷ; μὴ γένοιτο·
Rom 9:15
For he says to Moses,

‘I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.’
Exodus 33:19

For he says to Moses, k“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”

Rom 9:16
It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.
So then it depends not on human will or exertion,
Greek  not of him who wills or runs
but on God, who has mercy.
ἄρα οὖν οὐ τοῦ θέλοντος οὐδὲ τοῦ τρέχοντος ἀλλὰ τοῦ ἐλεῶντος θεοῦ.
Rom 9:17
For Scripture says to Pharaoh: ‘I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.’
Exodus 9:16
For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, oFor this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”
λέγει γὰρ γραφὴ τῷ Φαραὼ ὅτι Εἰς αὐτὸ τοῦτο ἐξήγειρά σε ὅπως ἐνδείξωμαι ἐν σοὶ τὴν δύναμίν μου, καὶ ὅπως διαγγελῇ τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ.
